It’s my 2nd Chaotic Christmas. Four issues of the newsletter, or is it 5? Well, here’s a holiday toast to Mycen, our former member and founding father. I hope you still read the Chronicles, my friend.
Finally we have been given patches that bring new classes and jobs, and a forthcoming patch that brings new races, new lore and, well, new everything. Speaking of new, the newsletter starts this New Year with a long anticipated roster of new contributors. Look for Noctura Nyx’s Memories of FFXI, and Lore Highwind’s Races of Eorzea series. I am excited to see our growth, and I hope you are too. Remember that the public CAN read the newsletter. They don’t have to be members.
This winter issue brings with it interviews from some of CT’s amazing influx of new members. If you haven’t already, chat them in-game and get to know them. You’ll also find my Secret Santa gift to Carolus, who for personal reasons, is leaving Eorzea. However, I find that there are more adventures of the immortal Astarlian, and his direwolf Baobab (yes, he named it!) to be told. Perhaps you’ll find yourself in a story. This is Eorzea, and anything is possible. Ho, ho, ho!
Technically, this is our ‘Holiday’ issue, so I’ll offer a few ideas. Tell people you love them, even if they know it. Hug them, because neither you or they will always be around. Actually talk to someone, rather than text them. Be a part of the bigger world – volunteer somewhere, and make a difference. Find a way to reduce the stress in your life, before stress reduces yours. Give second chances. Make a concerted effort to observe things better – more thoroughly, less subjectively – because simple important details are very easy to miss.
Author Neil Gaiman (he’s brilliant, and you should really read his work, especially his children’s books…www.mousecircus.com) posts his New Year’s wishes and resolutions every year. This is my favorite so far:
Happy New Year, everyone!
